Small projects
A cosy corner in Wandsworth.
A small secluded garden behind an attractive Edwardian terraced house in a quiet road in south London.
Our busy clients had recently completed a new extension which had covered a large part of the garden. To complete the scheme they wanted a secluded private space that would need little maintenance but allow them to relax outdoors and effortlessly entertain.
Our design used contrasting materials, textures and colours with high quality Ipe hardwood for the deck, slatted fencing and pergola, framed by white painted rendered walls and natural slate paving used for the rear terrace.
A water blade was inset into one wall with slate stepping stones through the ponds.
Crisp box hedging and low maintenance planting completed the scheme.
Gently running water to mask the sounds of the City.
Access to the garden was through the house and via the new kitchen so all the materials had to be easy to carry, and in clean packing. The pergola was bespoke and brought in in sections for final assembly in the garden
